PROJECT SUMMARY

The current project PALkonnect is engaging cultural, artistic, and research organizations to stimulate European awareness and empower people of current and future generations to respect the inclusion and diversity and to be successful innovators in their local environment. The current project aims to support artists from social inclusion groups to present and promote their artworks in post-COVID 19 circumstances and to inspire their cooperation within the European countries. The project aims to equip them with the necessary innovative skills and competencies to encourage their creativity and the creation of new art pieces. Additionally, the main objective of the project is to enhance the promotion and popularity of cultural and historical information about the targeted social inclusion groups to increase the public knowledge and integration process. Sharing the personal story and historical facts about each inclusion group will support the integration process and increase public knowledge.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

• Introduce and examine the situation of the artists with social inclusion backgrounds (Migrants, Refugees, Romani, Disabled) in the new post-COVID 19 circumstances
• Enhance artistic skills development and competencies that reinforce creativity, as well as to boost quality, innovation, and recognition of artists’ work
• Equip the artists with new skills helping their social empowerment and using the topics part of the training curriculum (Facilitator Programme for integration through arts)
• Assess and pilot the knowledge, skills, and competences acquired through non-formal learning of the curriculum modules
• Accelerate digital transformation and use of digital tools in order to produce creative products.
• Reinforce the cross-sectoral and international cooperation with a focus on creativity and artistic empowerment and strengthening the cooperation and networking between organizations from the seven EU Countries partners of the project.
• Provide a recovery plan for artists, using more digital and resilient recovery
• Equip cultural workers with skills for equity, diversity, and inclusion challenges in the learning environment.

The results of the project will be exploitable in several EU countries. The training materials will describe a philosophy that may be applied in varied contexts, while the project will also demonstrate manners, in which the activities can be localized to increase the integration of the social inclusion groups and artists professionalism, promote diversity, reduce marginalization and combat racism, and promote social inclusion. Special attention has been paid to language issues such as translations since the entire project aims to promote diversity.

PROJECT OUTPUT

• Research Report developed to identify and analyse the artists’ needs, missing competencies and tools in the field of learners (artists) and teachers’ training (cultural workers).
• Train-the-Trainer Package, to offer the trainers a practical overview of the training function, by demonstrating the best practices and latest techniques in training methodology and delivery. The content of the Train-the-trainer Package (Guideline for Supporting Artists in post-COVID19 & Recovery Plan).
• Short-term Joint Staff Training Event: This will be addressed to artists and art workers to prepare them for working with the intellectual outputs produced by the project.
• Learners’ training program consisted of curriculum and materials development and their practical testing through online webinars training and Local events.
• Online platform to host collaborative virtual environments “Digital Open Art Studio.
